Moab

We are here in Moab, a mountain biking mecca.

It's darn hot here!!

But we managed to get out on our bikes and see some sights. 

Jim is on Tout (which he learned about at Blogpaws) and took a couple videos.

We rode part of the Pipe Dream trail today. Very technical and hard.

Tomorrow we are getting up at the crack of dawn and taking a shuttle with our bikes to a popular ride here that starts up at 10,500 feet! Then we ride back home. 

Should be lots of photo ops so check back soon!

OH! and we just heard from some folks that there are movie folks here in the RV park, they are shooting a Disney movie, The Lone Ranger. hmmmm maybe we should ask them if they need some extras? Us... or maybe the flat cats?

A farewell to Blogpaws...

Blogpaws is over.... we had a great time meeting all the anipals typists, and chatting with some mew friends. We learned alot, we laughed, we cried.

so this was our first stop after we got set up at camp ground..

Little Mountain Summit

Since we arrived in SLC a day early we thought we would take advantage of it and go for a bike ride. We thought the Emigration Canyon ride up and over Little Mountain Summit looked good.

so off we set...

Middle of Nowhere

We are here in Salt Lake City! Got in yesterday afternoon. Decided since there was nothing really in Nevada we would press on and make our way to SLC. The KOA here was very obliging in letting us come a day early.

Now to catch up.... we left Truckee Sunday morning. All Flats, and cat on board. Our first layover was in Winnemucca, Nevada. There is a mountain bike trail there we wanted to ride. However, on Monday the winds were so bad (and the trail poorly marked thru Open Range cow pastures) it wasn't very pleasant. 

But we did have fun wrangling the cows!

The plan was to drive to West Wendover, which is on the border of Nevada and Utah, stay there overnight and then head to SLC on Wednesday. But we made good time and got to WW a bit earlier than planned, and not much there... so decided to press on.

There isn't really much when driving across the state of Nevada on I80. It's very much 'The Middle of Nowhere' feel...

but there is some pretty scenery..

Blogpaws starts tomorrow afternoon, so today we are heading out on our road bikes to try some of the local cycling routes. 

And to answer Mario and Mary's question. we have 4 bikes with us (2 each) so we can do both road riding and mountain biking :-)

Blogpaws OR Bust

Blogpaws or bust! We are packed and ready to leave in the morning!

These guys are so ready to get there and meet all their pals (flat, plush and real).

But first we had to give the RV a bath and put on the new rack extension on. Now we can carry 4 bikes.

While we were packing the rv, tsk wanted to be in there with us... but then took a nap with George.

Our first stop is Bloody Shins trail in Winnemucca NV. It's on BLM land and we will spend the night there and also do a mountain bike ride. 

Probably won't have any wifi till we get to SLC on Wednesday, but will update here when we can.

The Duck has landed

@GeorgeTheDuck took USPS Airlines all the way across the US to join us on our road trip to go to  BlogPaws this year!

He arrived today! We all are so excited to have him with us.

Everyone is ready for BlogPaws!

will be piling in the RV with us and the real tsk as we begin our road trip to Blogpaws.

Leaving sunday, stopping occasionally for some cycling, we will have great fun at Blogpaws and see lots of pals! Then we will continue east to do more cycling, perhaps Boulder CO and Moab UT.
